Edward S. Gusky joined Evans & Luptak as an associate in 1999 and became a partner in January, 2007. His areas of interest and practice include real estate development and finance, corporate law, and commercial transactions. His experience in real estate includes representing developers of multifamily housing projects, assisted living facilities and condominiums. Mr. Gusky’s representation includes all facets of development, from organizing developer entities and negotiating purchase agreements, construction contracts and loan documents, to obtaining site plan approvals, through the issuance of final certificates of occupancy and leasing of new construction. Mr. Gusky has represented both buyers and sellers in multi-million dollar mergers and acquisitions. In addition to representing developers, Mr. Gusky represents several financial institutions in a variety of commercial loan and SBA loan transactions. Mr. Gusky has extensive experience representing borrowers in connection with multifamily loans insured by HUD/FHA under sections 221(d)(4), and 223(f) of the National Housing Act, as well as Section 232 Health Care Facilities Program. Mr. Gusky has closed HUD/FHA loans in an aggregate principal amount in excess of $115,000,000. In addition, he has represented sellers in the Transfer of Physical Assets (TPA) procedure. Mr. Gusky has acted as Michigan counsel for Nucor Corporation, one of the ten largest steel companies in the world, in connection with a several hundred million dollar corporate acquisition. Mr. Gusky is the co-author of the article entitled “Preparing a Commercial Real Estate Purchase Agreement” in the September 2005 Michigan Bar Journal. Mr. Gusky was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mr. Gusky graduated, with distinction, from the University of Michigan in 1994. He received a B.A. degree in Psychology. In 1998, he received his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. |
